My son has started his Ortho-K treatment since 5th grade and it has been more than 7 years. Lots of his friends are doing it too. He didn't have any problem with it. However I heard from parents who have older kids (college age) that Ortho-K doesn't control near-sightless at all. Once they are over 18 and stop wearing the contacts, their eyes will soon go back to where it is supposed to be, ie, based on their genetic traits and life style, as near sighted as it they had never done the treatment, sometimes even up to 600-700 degree.
On the other hand, I think Ortho-K is useful if your daughter does sports, dances, etc. However it is a nuisance if you go camping a lot...
BTW, it is a lot of trouble wearing and taking care of hard contacts every day. If your daughter is responsible and can take care of it herself, it will be great.

And he often rubs his eyes after they get in and I am so worried the lens would hurt his eyes. But it helps his eyesight in the day time. And finally he started to do it by himself about a month ago. Life becomes so much easier for me. :)
It was easy to put in for my daughter. However, her eyesight didn't improve as much because I still see her squinting her eyes. It's becuase her stigmatism and Ortho-K doesn't treat it that well.
